BWPPA RANKING SYSTEM AND EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS SELECTION CRITERIA

The BWPPA operates a rolling ranking system for the MAIN Event rankings using the last 5 BWPPA events from February 2009 onwards.  A player's ranking is calculated using their best 4 results from the last 5 BWPPA events. 

Challenge-Cup Rankings will run from February 2009 to October 2010 and be reset to zero at the beginning of each season thereafter.

The ranking points from the Main Event at the end of the previous season will be used for selection of Team Great Britain for the European Championships or any other event requiring national team representation at an international level. 

SELECTION FOR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL European and World Championship participants must be agreed by the committee and be BWPPA Members at the time of selection and attendance at the championship. 

Players require a transparent, fair and firm target for qualification, considering this the selection for the GB Team will take place after the last event of each season.  

The highest ranked players will be invited to attend international events including the European Championships.  If a player(s) is unavailable their place(s) will be handed to the next highest ranked player.

For example if there are 4 places available at an event the top 4 ranked players will be invited to attend, upon a player(s) relinquishing their place the next highest ranked player(s)will be asked to take their place until all the spots are filled.

If a large number of higher ranked players are unable to attend an international event the committee may at their discretion only allow players with the ability of participating at a reasonable level to attend.
